So, if you're somebody who suffers from allergies, it's a good idea to change out this filter, maybe seasonally, to make sure that you don't have to breathe in all that pollen and other stuff because this is going to be the barrier between you and the outside. Now our cabin air filter is going to do for our car, what a furnace filter does for your house. It's going to filter out all the debris and particulars in the air and make sure that the air coming through the vents is clean and fresh. Now, a lot of us don't really think about it, but the air inside your car can actually be up to six times more polluted than the air outside, because once it goes through and it comes through the vents, there's nowhere for it to go. Hi there, Ram ownerso today in your 2019 Ram 3500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install PTCs replacement cabin filter. And here we can see our old filter next to our new filter and our new filter doesn't have anything in it. And you'll also notice they both do have the labels on the bottom for the direction of airflow. Now, one of the things that you'll also notice here is that our factory filter here has significantly less pleats in it than what our new filter does. The more pleats we have, the more filtration we're going to get. That's more surface area for the air to flow through to capture the dirt. more

This is going to keep out any kind of harmful material from getting in at you while you're driving, so if you have allergies it's a good idea to change this out relatively frequently because it's going to keep out any kind of mold spores, dust, pollen, bacteria, carbon monoxide. All that nastiness is going to get caught in the pleats of this filter, so it's a good idea to change that pretty frequently and it's also going to help to keep your heating and cooling system in your vehicle working properly. If this gets gunked up with stuff, sometimes it can cause more pressure in that air system and it can start to build up corrosion from condensation buildup so it just causes a lot of issues.As far as the construction, it has all these pleats. Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the the PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter on our 2016 Toyota Tundra.Now, what I cabin filter is going to do, is it's going to filter all the air from outside before it comes through our vents, just like the furnace filter in your house. And it's also going to make sure that any larger pieces get caught before it goes through our system, potentially causing either noise with the blower motor or causing a lot of back pressure when it gets through the system, causing damage down the road. And I know we've all been in that situation where we'll be at the service center, maybe getting an oil change or another service done on our truck. Somebody comes up and tells us, "Hey, your cabin filter's dirty, we can replace it for you." Well, I know a lot of us are kind of on edge about that because usually when you go to service centers, somebody's always trying to sell you something else. But, not to mention, "You really don't need to pay anybody to do it."It's an extremely easy process that you can do on your own. And the manufacturer is going to recommend that you at least check it, if not change it, every 12 to 15,000 miles, but you do want to double-check your Tundra's owner's manual for a specific time. more
